How to Choose a Plush Toy

1. Look at the Appearance
The saying "judge a thing by its appearance" is perfectly applicable here. When buying toys, we should buy toys that we or the person we're giving them to like. If they're ugly, it's not only a waste of money, but also a thankless purchase. Besides being aesthetically pleasing, plush toys for children should also be practical and safe. If you're giving a plush toy to your girlfriend, you should also put a lot of effort into the design.
2. Look at the Details
Manufacturing details are crucial for plush toys, directly impacting their quality and feel. You might like a toy, but if the quality is poor, it's best not to buy it; buying it will only diminish your impression of the toy. Generally, if a plush toy has a lot of loose threads or rough seams, it's a sure sign of a poor quality toy.
3. Look at the Filling
The filling is one of the most important components of a plush toy. Good quality filling is always made of PP cotton, which feels good and uniform. Poor quality filling is often made of substandard cotton, which feels poor and poses a risk to your baby's health. You can quietly open the zipper and inspect it. If the cotton is extremely low and the quality is poor, then regardless of whether it's shoddy cotton, avoid buying such a plush toy; the quality is definitely poor.
4. Feel the Fabric
The quality of the fabric directly affects the feel of a soft toy. No one likes a hard, rough, or prickly plush toy. A good plush toy is soft and smooth, with the texture of the fabric clearly visible, making it particularly comfortable.
5. Check the Label
Products from reputable brands are generally of higher quality. A good plush toy will always have a label, just like any other product. Generally, a plush toy with a label is more trustworthy. If it's an imported brand, check for CE certification; it's highly reliable and can be purchased with confidence.
6. Check the Packaging
Check the inner and outer packaging for consistent markings and moisture-proof properties. If the inner packaging is a plastic bag, any opening larger than a certain size must have air holes to prevent children from accidentally putting it over their heads and suffocating. Accessories that are unstable or too small can easily get into a baby's mouth while playing, potentially causing danger. These are all things to be aware of.

How to Wash Plush Toys

1. Dry Vacuuming
All you need is a bag of coarse salt (or baking soda). Place the dirty plush toy and the salt (or baking soda) in a large plastic bag. Tie the bag tightly and shake vigorously. After a few minutes, you'll notice the plush toy is clean. Then, remove the plush toy from the bag and use a soft-bristled brush to remove any remaining dust and salt (or baking soda). For larger clumps of dust, you can vacuum them, but be sure to use a moderate amount of force.

2. Washing
For small toys, use tape to cover the parts that are most susceptible to wear. Place the toy in the washing machine on a gentle cycle, spin dry, and hang it to air dry. Avoid direct sunlight. Pat the toy lightly intermittently to restore the fur and stuffing to its original fluffy, soft texture. For large toys, locate the filling seams, cut the threads, and remove the stuffing. Follow the same cleaning steps as for small toys. It's best to place the stuffing inside the toy's outer shell, shape it, and sew it shut. Then, use a comb to gently comb along the fur to define the shape.

3. Machine Washing
Machine washing means washing your plush toy directly in the washing machine. This method should only be used on plush toys labeled "machine washable." Use a gentle detergent, set the gentle cycle, and tumble dry on low heat for a thorough cleaning. The simplest solution is to take it to a reputable dry cleaner; they're much more professional than you might think. It's important to note that some low-quality, off-brand plush dolls on the market are stuffed with straw, bean hulls, and other materials that cannot be washed.
