Plush toys are a favorite among children and young adults. However, seemingly beautiful things can also harbor dangers. Therefore, while enjoying the fun and joy of playing, we must also consider safety, which is our greatest asset! Choosing quality plush toys is crucial. Here are my personal insights from both work and life:
1. First, determine the needs of the target age group. Then, choose toys tailored to that age group, prioritizing safety and practicality.
2. Check the hygienic quality of the plush fabric. This is determined by the quality of the raw material, including long or short plush (dtex yarn, plain yarn), velvet, and brushed TIC fabric. This is a key factor in determining the price of a toy. Some sellers sell inferior products as genuine, deceiving consumers.
3. Check the filling of the plush toy; this is another key factor affecting the price. Good fillings are all made of PP cotton, similar to the nine-hole pillow cores found in supermarkets, with a pleasant and uniform feel. Poor fillings are often made of low-quality cotton, feel poor, and are often dirty.
4. Check the fixings for firmness (the standard requirement is 90N of force). Check the edges for sharp edges and small movable parts to prevent children from accidentally putting them in their mouths while playing, potentially causing danger. Check the direction of the hair on materials of the same color or in the same position. Otherwise, the hair will appear uneven in color or have opposite directions in sunlight, affecting the appearance.
5. Observe the appearance and ensure that the doll toy is symmetrical. Check if it is soft and fluffy when pressed by hand. Check the seams for strength. Check for scratches or missing parts.
6. Check for trademarks, brand names, safety signs, the manufacturer's contact information, and secure binding.
7. Check the inner and outer packaging for consistent markings and moisture-proof properties. If the inner packaging is a plastic bag, air holes must be provided to prevent children from accidentally putting it over their heads and suffocating.
8. Detailed purchasing tips:
Check the eyes of a toy
High-quality soft toys have bright, deep, and lively eyes, giving the impression of communication. Low-quality eyes are dark, rough, dull, and lifeless. Some toys even have bubbles inside the eyes.
Look at the Toy's Nose and Mouth
Among plush toys, animal noses come in several varieties: leather-wrapped, hand-sewn with thread, and plastic. High-quality leather noses are made from the finest leather or artificial leather, resulting in a plump and delicate nose. Low-quality noses, on the other hand, have a rough, less plump leather texture. Thread-made noses can be padded or unpadded, and can be made with silk, wool, or cotton thread. High-quality thread-sewn noses are meticulously crafted and neatly arranged. However, many small workshops, where workers lack formal training, produce poor workmanship. The quality of plastic noses depends on the workmanship and the quality of the mold, as the quality of the mold directly impacts the nose's quality.
Material for the Palms and Paws
The materials used for the palms and paws are also very particular. When purchasing, pay special attention to the sewing technique, that is, the fine workmanship, and whether the materials used for the palms and paws complement the main body.
